Location: Albany, NY Category: Research Foundation Careers Posted On: Thu Dec 11 2025 Job Description:Description of Duties:
- Processing new clients for the Capital Region SBDC, including managing client inquiries, scheduling new client appointments, entering client-related data in the center's client relationship management software, and following up with clients who miss their initial appointments.
- Answering the Capital Region SBDC main line, returning voicemails, managing the front desk and visitors, greeting clients upon arrival, providing general customer service, scheduling internal meetings, participating in staff and stakeholder meetings, ordering office supplies, maintaining organization of office storage spaces, and providing general administrative support for the Director and Assistant Director.
- Assisting the Capital Region SBDC Director and Assistant Director with marketing efforts, including Constant Contact communications, social media posting, flyer and brochure development, and stakeholder meeting scheduling.
- Completing and maintaining new client data entry, student intern client-related data entry, and administrative data entry into the Capital Region SBDC's data management systems.
- Managing administrative tasks for the Capital Region SBDC's events, seminars, and webinars, including data entry, event posting, event marketing, stakeholder communications, and reporting.
- Overseeing and executing special projects as assigned by the Capital Region SBDC Director and Assistant Director. Prior examples include annual client file scanning and shredding.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Capital Region SBDC Director.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree
- Two years of prior work experience in an administrative capacity.
- Three years of experience as an owner of or employee of a small business (company with less than 500 employees).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Office 365 especially Word, Excel and Teams.
- Proficiency with the following software platforms: Constant Contact, JotForm, Appointlet, and
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior experience providing customer service to customers in a professional office setting.
- Strong time management, multitasking and prioritization skills.
- Prior experience supporting projects and events (workshops, seminars, webinars, company meetings, etc.).
- Prior experience with grant-funded, government or nonprofit organizations.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $40,000-$45,000 (DOE)
