Who we are looking for: 

A highly skilled and experienced Digital Marketing Strategist, Meetings to join ASCO’s Marketing and Communications department. The selected candidate will lead the marketing of ASCO Meetings and Events by creating and articulating the vision, strategies, and priorities that build strategic competitive advantage for ASCO. The Digital Marketing Strategist, Meetings will develop comprehensive, insight-driven strategic marketing plans, oversee content creation and development of creative materials, execute marketing and tactical plans, analyze performance, and collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues cross-departmentally to align with organizational priorities and achieve desired results.



Requirements

What you will do: 

  • Understand and meet customer/non-member and member needs for ASCO Meetings
  • Collaborate and partner with stakeholders, including Education, Science, and Professional Development (ESPD) and Meetings leadership, to research and design successful Meetings and Events (pricing, program, delivery) and translate program goals into actionable marketing strategies and plans
  • Lead the strategic marketing direction, budgeting, and implementation of multichannel marketing campaigns across the portfolio of ASCO Meetings and Events to drive abstract submissions, meeting registrations, attendance, and other key goals
  • Develop and execute multichannel and highly integrated marketing campaigns across traditional and digital channels, including inbound/outbound, web strategy and content marketing, paid digital (SEM, social media), SEO, e-mail marketing, print advertising, and direct mail
  • Partner with Digital Marketing Director to test, prove, and scale paid media across ASCO Meetings including PPC, display, online video, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Develop, manage, and maximize the overall ASCO Meetings marketing budget
  • Collaborate with Customer Insights & Data Analyst unit to monitor KPIs and streamline reporting to better understand customer insights to optimize performance
  • Partner with Public Relations co-strategist to deliver integrated, agile, and data-driven MarCom plans and results
  • Lead collaborative development of new ideas while leveraging the expertise of a core team (Content Marketing, Analytics, Market Research, Digital, and more) to define strategies and tactics and measure results
  • As the ASCO Meetings marketing strategy thought leader, champions, presents, and documents strategies, data and analytics, insights, recommendations, and best practices to stakeholders across ASCO, including C-Level executives, medical doctors and physician leaders, division Vice Presidents, peers, and support staff.

What you will need in order to be successful: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 7 – 9 years of experience in Meetings and Event marketing inclusive of program design, pricing, budgeting, and production.
  • 7 – 9 years of experience in integrated multichannel marketing strategies and tactics inclusive of online marketing, direct mail, email, social media, search, and website, and print advertising
  • Expertise in creative design, copywriting, and digital asset development specific to each marketing channel
  • 2 -3 years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Demonstrates gravitas necessary to work confidently with C-level executives, physician leaders and doctors across the global scientific and clinical oncology community
  • Ability to operate with high degree of autonomy in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Brings strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong ability to influence and collaborate across teams, functions, and divisions
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to create, execute, and adjust plans as needed

Ideal candidates will also contribute: 

  • Prior experience with Oncology or other scientific or medical event marketing
  • Prior non-profit marketing experience
  • Prior product marketing experience (design, integration, pricing, delivery, launch, monitoring, etc.)
  • Prior people management experience. Able to inspire, develop, and grow individual and team performance
